Competitive Data Scientist

micro1 is looking for data scientists, ML practitioners and applied mathematics experts with competitive data science experience (Kaggle, DrivenData, Zindi, AIcrowd, Numerai, DataSource.ai, CodaLab/Codabench). 50 openings. Global, fully remote, about 15 hours per week, flexible schedule including weekends.

What you will do:

• Build reproducible environments, prepare data and dependencies, and implement reference solutions
• Develop tests and evaluation criteria that reliably separate correct solutions from flawed ones
• Run coding agents against tasks, investigate failures and refine tasks
• Identify implementation errors, flawed assumptions and data leakage
• Document task requirements, solution reasoning and verification steps

What they look for:

• Demonstrated experience in data science, ML, quantitative modeling or research competitions
• Strong problem solving and clear understanding of your methods
• Practical programming ability to implement and verify your own solutions

Huge plus: strong Python coding experience, including testing, debugging and working with unfamiliar code.
