Software Engineer Expert

About the role

Mercor is hiring expert evaluators in Software Engineering to review AI-generated work products, including slides, spreadsheets and documents, for real-world quality. Apply your subject-matter expertise to assess their usefulness and provide structured feedback. This is a fully remote, hourly contractor engagement advertised at $100–$150 per hour.

What you will do

• Evaluate AI-generated artifacts for usability in a software engineering context.
• Identify factual, aesthetic and presentation errors.
• Provide clear, structured written feedback.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant professional Software Engineering experience at a top firm in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
• Native or professional fluency in English.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Preferred qualifications

• An advanced degree (Master’s or higher) from a reputable institution.

Contract and payment terms

• Independent contractor; fully remote, with work completed on your own schedule.
• Weekly payments through Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
• Projects can be extended, shortened or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• The work does not involve accessing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client or institution.
• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported at this time.
