Psychiatrist

About the role

Mercor is hiring board-certified psychiatrists (MDs and DOs) to evaluate health AI models in partnership with a leading AI lab. The work involves reviewing de-identified patient charts and judging AI answers to clinical questions in psychiatry.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate AI answers to psychiatry questions for clinical accuracy, safety and alignment with current standards of care.
• Check each answer against the patient chart and decide which of two responses is stronger.
• Write structured rationales covering clinical rigor, completeness and clarity.
• Flag errors that could compromise patient safety.

Required qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in ABPN Psychiatry through an ABMS member board or the AOA, as specified in Mercor's listing.
• Active, unrestricted US medical license.
• Completed residency, plus fellowship where required for the specialty.
• Currently practicing and seeing patients in the United States, with at least one year of independent practice after training.
• Three or more years of post-training experience strongly preferred.
• Clear written communication and close attention to detail.

Pay and project details

• $150 per hour, paid in USD.
• Fully remote independent contractor role for qualified physicians practicing in the United States.
• Flexible part-time hours and an immediate start according to the supplied listing.

Contract and payment terms

• Weekly payments through Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
• Mercor cannot support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time.
