News Analysts, Reporters, and Journalists (US based)
Mercor is hiring experienced News Analysts, Reporters, and Journalists to help evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI systems. In this role, you'll evaluate AI-generated news content and workflows, leveraging your real-world expertise in reporting, news analysis, and editorial judgment across print and broadcast media.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI-generated news stories, analyses, scripts, and other journalistic artifacts for quality and accuracy.
Compare AI-generated responses head-to-head based on reporting rigor, editorial soundness, and clarity of narration.
Review journalistic scenarios involving story selection, source evaluation, fact interpretation, and presentation choices and provide expert feedback.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience as a Reporter, News Reporter, News Anchor, Staff Writer, Journalist, or another closely related news or journalism role.
Experience writing, narrating, or analyzing news stories, reviews, or commentary for print, broadcast, or other communications media.
Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.
Strong written English communication skills.

Start date: Immediate
Duration: Approximately 4–6 weeks
Payment: task-based (payment upon first task approval). Experts who complete their first task within the required timeline will then be qualified to be paid hourly for the remainder of the project.

Contract and Payment Terms
You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
